Firstly, thank you for your continued support and commitment to our Club. It’s because of your dedication as a member that we can continue to operate a thriving club at the heart of our community.
We want to be transparent about some financial challenges we’re facing. Like many other organisations, we are experiencing a significant increase in our cost base. Rising costs for utilities, maintenance, equipment, bar costs and other essential services have placed additional pressure on the club’s finances.
After careful consideration and exploration of alternatives, we’ve reached the difficult conclusion that we could no longer support these continuing increases. As a result, we have no option but to increase the bar prices to secure the cost base of the club. To provide the membership with time assistance, this will happen on 31st January. This decision has not been made lightly, but it is necessary to protect the future of Leigh RUFC and allow us to continue providing the facilities, programs, and experiences you value.
However, the Board also recognise that membership of Leigh RUFC is a privilege, and as such, there needs to be benefits to our membership programme. Therefore, to mitigate these increases to our members, the Board has also made the decision that all paid members, as of 29th January, will receive a 15% discount on all bar prices.
Please ensure that, as a member, you are in possession of your membership card at the time of any bar purchase, this will allow the bar staff to apply the 15% discount to your purchase. Any abuse of your card, such as, providing your card to non-members, will result in suspension of your card from the discount scheme.
As a Board we thought it only right and proper that you are made aware of the constraints that we are working under and that you are made aware on a timely basis what we are doing to secure the future of the club.
