Leigh entertained Eagle RUFC from Warrington, in the ninth Annual 'Steve Ranson Celebration Trophy' encounter yesterday at Round Ash Park.
Leigh ran out victorious by 5 points to nil in a thrilling encounter, Max Schroeder scoring the winning try with ten minutes to go.
Both sides contained several 'veterans' and the standard of rugby was excellent considering that many of the players taking part only play the 'occasional' game now and are well into their fifties and sixties!

Steve's tragic early death has brought the two Clubs together and this Annual Trophy match re-unites very good friends.
Post match celebrations continued on late into the night with several glasses of port being raised in Steve's memory and honour.
