Highs and lows for the Bulldogs on a busy morning at a windswept Wigan

After a three week weather induced break the Bulldogs travelled to neighbours Wigan for a mini tournament. On a windswept day the Bulldogs endured a tough morning.

Game 1 v Blackburn
Blackburn scored first turning defence into attack with a well worked try. The Bulldogs hit straight back with Harrison G scoring from a scrum. Blackburn scored next with a try after a turnover. Despite great pressure the Bulldogs couldn’t breach the Blackburn line as the referee blew for half time.

With Blackburn in free flowing mode Will saved a certain try with a fine tackle before Blackburn crashed over for their third. Will then broke through to reduce the deficit before Blackburn immediately scored again.

Blackburn added another after bringing on two subs for one player. Following an excellent run from Harrison G, Will scored for the Bulldogs before Blackburn got their sixth try with the referee bringing the game to an end.

Game 2 v Orrell
Orrell scored from the kick off with the Bulldogs fast asleep. The Bulldogs hit straight back with James diving over following a marauding run from Harrison G before Will scored an excellent try.

Leo then went the length of the field following a pass from Lawrence with the Bulldogs in complete control. Leo added another try again beating the defence on the outside after an offload from Ese before Will added a fifth try on the half time whistle.

Orrell got on the score sheet first with a penalty try in the second half before Harrison G restored the Bulldogs lead. With defence dominating particularly through Sam and Sammy there were no further tries.

Game 3 v Wigan
In the final game of the morning the home team started brightly with two excellent back to back tries. Wigan added a third in a dominant performance before Harrison G went down the middle for an excellent try. Wigan got their fourth and fifth tries just before the half time break.

Wigan began the second half as they started the first with two quick fire tries. They added another four tries with the Bulldogs looking tired before the referee brought the match to an end.

Coaches awards went to Will, Sammy, Sam, Oliver D and Tyler.
