CODE OF PRACTICE FOR SPECTATORS
Leigh Rugby Union Football Club
Leigh RUFC’s Code of Conduct for Spectators ensures that:
• In Rugby Union players behaviour will often reflect that of the spectators around them. In Rugby Union we welcome spectators on our touchlines who embrace the ethos of the game as one of ENJOYMENT
• Be familiar with, and abide by, the RFU guidance in relation to verbal and emotional abuse.
• Respect the rugby club policy with regard to spectator behaviour
• Be aware that touch line abuse of officials will not be tolerated
• Place the well being and safety of all members above all considerations.
• Operate without discrimination on the grounds of gender, race, colour, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, association with national minority, birth or other status
• Respect the basic human rights, dignity and worth of each Member
• Not encourage members, performers or officials to violate the rules of the sport
• Observe the authority and decisions of all officials
• Encourage performers to obey the spirit of the rules and fair play on and off the sports arena at all times
• Members will remind themselves that they are ambassadors of the club and will act appropriately at all times
• Behaviors likely to cause offence to other members will not be entered into
• Behaviors that have caused offence will be dealt with by the disciplinary committee
• Leigh RUFC encourages touch line support but if you cannot control your emotions and feel the need to vent your frustrations towards players and officials then please do not attend games involving Leigh RUFC.
